The pilot drills are intended for preparing the tooth or root canal so that restorative measures can subsequently be carried out. There are two different preshaping drills:
- Pilot drills with guiding tip (REF 42010)
- Pilot drills with cutting tip (REF 43000)
There are some dentists who prefer the REF 42010 with guiding tip for safe retention in the root canal. The guiding tip only cuts on the side parts - because it does not have a cutting tip - so penetration must be slow. Other dentists prefer faster cutting using the cutting tip (REF 43000).
