The key to a long-lasting and highly stable restoration lies in the high flexural strength of the root post. According to the standard “EN ISO 178: Plastics – Determination of Flexural Properties,” the Leibniz Institute for Composite Materials GmbH (IVW) at the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau has confirmed, in a recent test, that the CYTECpro eco root posts from HAHNENKRATT achieve the highest flexural strength. The test also included five other root posts from various manufacturers with comparable diameters. The CYTECpro eco from HAHNENKRATT achieved the best result, with an average value of 1,430 MPa. The new pro translucent root posts transmit light throughout the entire apical post area, resulting in optimized and shortened primary curing of the composite up to the tip of the root post. A strong adhesive bond between the microporous surface of the root post and the composite is achieved without silanization.
