The standard mouth mirrors are mirrored on the reverse side with a triple pure silver layer.
The mirror image is bright, but can produce so-called "ghost images" or double images. With a simple mirror coating on the rear side of the mirror glass, there are two reflections, one on the mirror coating and another - but weak reflection - on the surface of the glass.
