Since 2022, Amanda has been part of the sales team at dental manufacturer Hahnenkratt. Trained as an industrial clerk, she is now the Chief Sales Officer (CSO), responsible for her own team and passionate about her role. However, her path into the dental industry wasn’t preordained: Amanda previously worked at a trading company for electronic components—a completely different world with completely different customers. Still, she says with a smile, "Even though the industry was new to me, I already knew the company. Hahnenkratt is just a few minutes from my home, and even my dentist uses their instruments."
In her first position at Hahnenkratt, Amanda was responsible for invoice verification, including the preparation of all necessary export documents as well as national and international shipping. The role also involved collaboration with the QM department, communication with dentists, and close coordination with the sales team. After a year and a half, she transitioned fully to the sales department, where her main task was to support customers from their initial inquiry all the way through invoicing. Her current responsibilities broadly connect both departments. What does she especially enjoy about this? “That I’ve worked in both areas and understand what my colleagues are talking about. It also makes it easier to handle complex topics. I’m still involved in day-to-day operations, which keeps me in contact with customers and allows me to directly share my experience. In this new position, I can continue to grow and take on additional new tasks.”
What made transitioning within the company easier: The departments are closely connected, making transitions between them seamless. Marketing, Sales, and Aftersales work hand in hand. And anyone working in Sales quickly realizes: The dental industry is both international and complex. Every country has its own customs regulations, logistical challenges, and cultural nuances. “You have to be open-minded and flexible. But that’s exactly what makes it so exciting,” Amanda says.
What the CSO at Hahnenkratt especially values: open communication, a family-like atmosphere, and the ability to balance career and family life. “Thanks to flexible working hours, I can pursue my professional goals and still be there for my two children,” says Amanda.
But it’s not just flexibility that matters to her: “Over the past few years, I’ve had the opportunity to gain many new insights and continuously deepen my knowledge of our industry. That wouldn’t have been possible without the expertise and the well-coordinated team we have.” Hahnenkratt’s strong growth also reflects the dynamic nature of the dental industry. “With innovation and quality, we can continue to inspire many more customers,” says Amanda.
